Toy clutter
Have you ever walked into a room & felt completely overwhelmed because there isn’t a clear surface in sight? There is so much stuff everywhere that you can’t see where to begin & it feels hopeless? My beautiful client, deep in the trenches with two little ones felt this way about their dining room.
Their dining room had become over-run with toy clutter on every available surface. And it was overwhelming for the big people & the little people. Making space to eat was a daily struggle. Finding a spot to play was a struggle.
What was the solution?
Zoning & a toy bank.
Furniture in the room was rearranged to create a dedicated space for play. And after some decluttering, contents of the furniture were rearranged so that one cupboard was set aside as a toy bank. Having lots of toys out can overwhelm our little people; the toy bank allows us as parents to have a smaller number of toys out for play that can be swapped over regularly with toys in the toy bank. The whole “Less Is More” concept, which allows for more active play and less toy clutter.
“It’s feeling a lot better in here 😊 thank you”
(Feedback from my client deep in the trenches)
Multipurpose rooms can be a struggle, but with some functional organising they can absolutely work and meet the needs of everyone in your household.
